Solo & Duo CDs

As a soloist Alison can be heard on A Spagna in the Works, and Signum’s discs of the Bach gamba sonatas and Wordplay, all featured below. She is also a solosit on two Naxos discs of Marais with Spectre de la Rose - Greatest Masterworks, including Le Labyrinthe (8.550750), and Music for the Sun King, which includes the Couplets de Folies (8.553081), and with James Bowman in Buxtehude’s Jubilate Domino, Meridian CDE 84332

Rose Consort of Viols CDs

The Rose Consort recordings of English Consort music include Elizabethan Christmas Anthems on Amon Ra CD-SAR-46, and eight discs on the Naxos Label - these are Jenkins 8.550687, Gibbons 8.550603, Byrd 8.550604, Tomkins 8.550602, Lawes 8.550601, Dowland 8.553326, and Purcell 8.553957 and, a disc of Elizabethan music 8.554284. More recently they have recorded discs of Ferrabosco (father and son) and Ward, for cpo. Most of their recent releases are on the Deux-Elles and Delphian labels, featured below, and also include two discs with The Marian Consort - An Emerald in a Work of Gold, and Loquebantur.

Musica Antiqua of London CDs

Musica Antiqua of London (Director Philip Thorby) recordings provide a very rare opportunity to hear music of the 16th century played on two different matching sets of renaissance viols, and two different sets of recorders. Most of their discs are on the Signum label, including A Songbook for Isabella and Wordplay, both featured below. Other Signum releases include The Triumphs of Maximilian, with John Potter, SIGCD004, Master of Musicians - a disc of music by Josquin and his contemporaries SIGCD025, Fire and Ice – Love songs from 16th Century Venice, with Clare Wilkinson SIGCD035, and, most recently, Madame d’Amours - Songs, Dances and Consort music for the Six Wives of Henry VIII SIGCD044, the last of which use a specially commissioned set of viols based on a late 15th century painting by Costa.
